ADT Pilot Program

The UCLA ADT Pilot Program allows students pursuing an approved Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) from participating California Community Colleges (CCCs) to be given priority review consideration.

There is no additional application required; applicants will be reviewed and considered based on their UC application and should report relevant ADT information in the application.

Benefits of the ADT Pilot Program

  • The ADT pilot program aims to streamline the transfer process and support more transfer students as they progress toward their bachelor’s degree.
  • Through the ADT program, UCLA will offer priority admission consideration to students who complete an ADT from select CCCs. Each participating CCC may offer up to eight possible majors through the program.
  • To participate, students must be enrolled at one of the participating CCCs and complete their ADT in a specific major.

Participating Community Colleges and ADT Majors

You may obtain more information about the ADT Pilot Program by contacting one of the participating community college programs listed below.

The following are the approved UCLA majors and corresponding ADTs at participating CCCs. There is no direct alignment between all UCLA majors and campus ADTs; however, complementary ADTs have been identified where the specified ADT requirements align with the major preparation requirements for admission.

Understanding the ADT Pilot Program Requirements

Major Alignment

Applicants must complete their ADT in a major that aligns with the major listed on their UC application. Major changes are strongly discouraged after admission to UCLA.

Unit Limitations

No more than 19 UC-transferable semester units should be in progress during the spring term before transfer.

GPA Requirements

Applicants must achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 for all ADT majors.

Course Completion by the end of fall before transfer

At least two English composition courses and one Mathematical concepts and quantitative reasoning course that meet the UC Requirements (UCE and UCM) must be completed prior to the end of the fall term before transfer, with a grade of B or better in each course.

Completion of Major-Specific Requirements

All major-specific admission requirements must be fulfilled by the end of the spring term before transfer.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Only students transferring directly from a participating ADT Pilot Program CCC are eligible for the ADT program.
    • At least 30 UC-transferable semester units must be completed from the CCC certifying the ADT, and that CCC must be the last institution of attendance.
    • Residency Requirement: must be a California resident or AB 540 eligible non-resident.

Ineligible applicants

  • Students who are concurrently enrolled in high school at the time of ADT submission.
  • Students who have completed fewer than 30 UC-transferable semester units at a CCC.
  • Students who have already earned a bachelor’s, graduate, or professional degree.
  • Non-resident students who are not AB 540 eligible.
  • Students previously enrolled at any UC campus during a regular term (excluding summer sessions) who plan to return to the same UC campus.

Not required for Transfer Admission

Students are not required to apply through the ADT program to be considered for admission to UCLA. ADT is an optional pathway. Students who meet our general admission criteria are not required to have an ADT for admission.

Frequently Asked Questions
