Major Preparation Requirements

  • At least one year of Arabic, Armenian, Hebrew, Persian, Turkish, or African language
  • Two or more courses from:
    • Art history
    • Contemporary culture
    • History (post-1750) of Africa or the Middle East
    • Sociocultural anthropology
    • Cultural geography
    • Contemporary world history
    • World literature
    • Comparative politics
    • Economic geography
    • Microeconomics
    • Introductory sociology

 

* Students are classified as Pre-African and Middle Eastern Studies until lower division preparation courses are completed at UCLA.
