Required courses

  • One and half years of calculus through multivariable
  • One year of calculus-based physics

Strongly recommended courses

  • One C++ programming course or MATLAB for geoscientists
  • Climate science
  • Introduction to undergraduate research in atmospheric and oceanic sciences
  • Linear algebra
  • Differential equations

Note: Effective for fall 2021 and thereafter, introduction to undergraduate research in atmospheric and oceanic sciences will be a required preparation course for this major. This course may be taken at UCLA after transfer.
