Major Preparation Requirements
Required courses
- One and half years of calculus through multivariable
- One year of calculus-based physics
Strongly recommended courses
- One C++ programming course or MATLAB for geoscientists
- Climate science
- Introduction to undergraduate research in atmospheric and oceanic sciences
- Linear algebra
- Differential equations
Note: Effective for fall 2021 and thereafter, introduction to undergraduate research in atmospheric and oceanic sciences will be a required preparation course for this major. This course may be taken at UCLA after transfer.
