Major Preparation Requirements
Required courses
- One and a half years of calculus through multivariable
- Linear algebra
- One year of calculus-based physics (mechanics, electricity, magnetism, etc.)
Strongly recommended courses
- One year of general chemistry
- One course in biology with lab for the major (cellular, molecular)
- Differential equations
- Additional calculus-based physics courses
More Information
Admission to the major will be suspended effective Fall Quarter 2026 for continuing students and Fall Quarter 2027 for new students. Students currently in the major are not affected by the admissions suspension.
