Major Preparation Requirements

Required courses

  • One year of general chemistry with lab
  • One and a half years of calculus through multivariable

Two or more additional courses from

  • Linear algebra
  • Differential equations
  • One and a half years of calculus-based physics (mechanics, electricity, magnetism, etc.)
  • One year of biology with lab
  • Intro to computer science or computer programming
  • Statistics (equivalent to UCLA’s Statistics 10 or Life Sciences 40)

* Students are classified as Pre-Computational and Systems Biology until lower-division preparation courses are completed at UCLA.
