Major Preparation Requirements

  • One introductory course in Earth science
  • One year of general chemistry with lab
  • One calculus course


Additional recommended coursework prior to transfer

  • One course in biology with lab for the major (evolution)
  • One course in calculus-based physics with lab (mechanics)


Applicants are strongly encouraged to complete as many preparatory courses as possible. Remaining major preparatory coursework may be completed at UCLA after transfer.
