Transfer Preparation Requirements — English

Required courses

• One course in English composition (expository writing)
• One course in critical reading and writing (composition and literature)
• One year of survey of literatures in English
  • British literature to 1850
  • Either British literature from 1850 to the present or survey of American literature

Strongly recommended course

• Two years of one foreign language or a combination of courses in foreign language and foreign literature

Note: High School foreign language classes will NOT satisfy major preparation requirements.
